TAPS VS Destination Truth VS Ghost Adventures

Lately, the show, Ghost Hunters (TAPS) has disappointed me. I like this show and the people on it, but it isn’t what it used to be. They used to debunk paranormal activity by asking different questions when doing EVP’s and EMF’s. I’ll explain. When asking a question and then the EMF lights up, it used to be numerous things were asked, but now only one thing will be asked and if it lights up, it’s a yes. They used to also not tell personal experiences to the client because they have no evidence. Now, they are telling personal experiences, some of which, I do not believe. Last night’s episode, (Apr. 14, 2010) Grant and Jason claimed to see a shadow 3 times total by a window, yet never visible to the camera. Why? The camera man has the camera centered on Jason and Grant instead of facing the same way they are to see if they will catch what they saw again. Now, Jason and Grant know the camera man is turning to face them, then they say they see something. I don’t buy it. To make this show better, they should have cameras facing what they see. A reaction to a noise or something paranormal is not evidence of it. Another problem I have is the camera angles. Why have a camera angle instead of filming the entire room?

Destination Truth, hosted by Josh Gates, is an excellent show. He is paid to search for monsters, paranormal, etc… How do you get this job? I admire Josh and his crew because they have tremendous amount of guts. They are crazy. This season, Gates has caught more believable paranormal activity than TAPS. Another reason why I like this show a lot is that it is extremely comical from the food they eat to the car rentals they drive and even to the camels that refuse a ride. Gates is a great host along with a phenomenal documentary voiceover.

Zach Bagans from Ghost Adventures makes looking for ghosts exciting. He and 2 of his friends, Nick and Aaron, set off throughout the world finding spirits with no camera crews. They carry the cameras themselves. They leave their voice recorders on longer and they are willing to try new things. In the first few seasons, with Aaron being scared, it was obvious he heard something. He is not an actor. Also, Zach’s voice is very provacative and not monotone at all making me believe that something is more willing to come out. Cameras are put up in numerous places and left there throughout the night. They film entire rooms, hallways, etc… I’m guessing this is why they catch more. Plus, they still get excited when they hear or see something themselves.

Brett Hart on Monday Night Raw

I like Brett Hart and I thought it was going to be cool to see him return to the WWE, but Hart was the most boring guest host ever. What happened 12 years ago was over and done with. Get over it. Ok, so he start made for some great entertainment, but seriously, Brett didn’t even make a match. Obviously, none of the hosts do, but at least they pretend to make them. I have a feeling there may look like there will be controversy when Mike Tyson hosts next week. The controversy that happened last night was nothing but a yawn fest. The whole time was Brett waiting on Mr. McMahon. McMahon pretended to be nice, but at the very end, kicked Brett in the gut. Wrestlers go through a lot more than what Brett did back in Montreal the night he supposedly got screwed out of the title. Although everything was an act last night, I was glad to see someone get kicked; that is what Monday Night Raw is all about – not some sweet homecoming for Brett Hart. I would even be a better guest than Brett Hart. Actually, if anyone from WWE ever reads this, you still need to have a guest host from “off the street.” I would be a great candidate. Yeah, I know – fat chance.

Destination Truth

Josh Gates, the host of Destination Truth, has an awesome voice and an awesome show. I was hoping to see him down in the Everglades, but I didn’t know the exact dates he was going. I am only about an hour away. Camping in the middle of nowhere in the Everglades is just plain nuts. A “skunk ape” would be the least of my worries. Wasn’t this proven false a few years ago anyway? I wanted to meet him because I want to be on the show. It would be easy to lose weight on this show. Anyway, they seem to have more happen on this season than any other. For example, the plane in Romania where the roof was blown off, the projection of the guy in the Romanian forest, the island of the dolls, and the experiences in King Tut’s tomb. How did they get permission to go in there? This looks like a fun job to have. It always seems like the most dangerous thing around them is not what they are hunting for. So, Josh, if you ever read this, let me be a guest on your show – or an employee. I do need a job. Anyone else want to comment on this show? DO you think it is real or fake when they do find something?

Burn Notice

Burn Notice is my favorite show. I hate the fact that it only comes on during the summer and winter months. The concept of the show is simply amazing. It’s new, unique, and realistic. USA has done an awesome job creating this show. I wish they would have their seasons longer. I would even like to be an actor on Burn Notice, but I am not sure what to do. I guess I need to be persistent somehow. I am only a few hours away from Miami. How hard is it to be an extra? This show almost makes you want to be a spy. If you have never seen it, I suggest you check it out when it returns in the winter. It has been on at 9:00 pm usually on Thursdays on USA. If you have seen this show and enjoy it, let me know. Also, let me know even if you don’t like it. Give details. In my opinion, Jeffrey Donavan is one of the greatest actors and Matt Witt has got to be one of the most intelligent writers. I look forward to seeing Burn Notice when it returns.

Alf

This has to be one of the funniest shows of all time. My father always laughed at the fact that Alf would make smart comments about the cat. This show should be returned. Alf also used to be a favorite on Hollywood Squares. Alf was a favorite among adults and kids; I’m surprised it didn’t last longer. The strange thing is that I don’t remember any full episodes, but I remember watching it around 8:00 every night after school. If you enjoyed Alf back in the late 80′s, tell me about it.
